Information
This poster was designed after the secretary bird, an animal found at the Birmingham, Alabama Zoo. This project was created during the Processes course and marks the first project I was able to complete digitally in the program. The process involved utilizing traditional and hands-on methods such as scanning, inking, and letterpress printing. We also worked with the typographic information at the bottom of the poster, which included the animal's height, weight, and additional facts.

The process of this project was one of the most enjoyable aspects. We were encouraged to explore the campus and surrounding area to scout for textures and unique forms. We would collect samples of these textures and imprint them on paper using lead and ink. Additionally, we carved the name of our animal out of chipboard, inked it, and then used it to create imprints on paper. These inking and imprinting techniques were then scanned and prepared for digital use. The hands-on process and the integration of analog techniques into a digital workflow were particularly rewarding, as they helped bridge the gap between traditional and modern design methods. The experience solidified my current interest in asset design and illustration, emphasizing the importance of tactile experimentation in my creative development.
