Information
This project is an identity and brand design for Terra, a landscaping service company. It was created during the Design One course, which focused on cohesive brand identity, versatile aesthetics, and multidimensional design. The brief for this project was to create a concept logo and brand suite for a company that focuses on industrial or community work. The primary deliverables for this project were a business card, cover letter, and envelope. Together, these items needed to reflect the company's message and aesthetics, attracting the industry's niche audience. Furthermore, they had to showcase versatility across various mockups and physical materials through a careful design strategy.
Located in Naples, Florida, Terra vows to support the well-being of communities from the roots up, enhancing areas through careful attention and aesthetic care. A well-maintained appearance contributes to community health. In other words, for a community to feel like a home, it must look the part. Terra believes that every property owner should have easy access to a trustworthy and timely landscaping service. They strive for affordability without compromising the quality of their work. By choosing Terra, you vote for the type of community you want to live in.
In my design research, I wanted to ensure that this message was supported by the aesthetic choices of the logo and brand design. The main symbol of the logo was inspired by floral illustrations and plant cell formations. The company patterns were derived from the negative and positive space of the main symbol, directly replicating the look of interconnected plant cells. While mocking up our work, we were encouraged to consider how the logo would be placed on different materials. I mocked up the logo on uniforms, gardening tools, and a tote bag.
